Alternator with internal regulator

Alternator opened with the rotor (field) removed. Measuring the resistance of the stator (armature).
The stator, or armature, has a resistance about 1/10 that of the rotor

The alternator is open. The rotor (field) is shown. Brushes connect to the field rings.
The field, or rotor, has a resistance around 10x that of the stator, or armature

Inside of the alternator showing the stator, the regulator, diodes, and brush. The brush is usually in the holder but is out because the rotor is not holding it in.

Internal regulator with brushes and holders

This will replace the internal regulator so the field wires can be brought outside so an external regulator can control it.
